It's going to be a great Sunday to spend the day eating.  Check this out and enjoy.

The arrival of spring welcomes the return of the third Philly Farm & Food Fest to the Pennsylvania Convention Center Annex, this Sunday, April 13.

With more than 150 vendors slated to participate, the day-long festival of locally grown and produced food provides a super opportunity for consumers of local foods (like you!) to interact with farmers, food artisans and sustainable-business owners by sampling, shopping and chatting.
This go-around, Philly Farm & Food Fest has more than doubled in size from its first show in 2011 and now welcomes a vast display of goods, an excellent lineup of speakers and panelists, and two epicurean tasting lounges.

On the festival floor, the array of vendors on tap to peddle and display wares includes such local favorites as Beechwood Orchards, Blue Moon Acres, Food and Ferments, Little Baby’s Ice Cream, Philly Homebrew Outlet, Yellow Springs Farm and many, many more.

For even more eats, a $15 separate ticket is available in advance for both the Libations Lounge, with guided tasting of local spirits, beers, wines, and the Shellfish Salon, a space for guided tastings of local oysters and clams led by Oyster House’s Sam Mink.

Plus, attendees can get inspired by farm-to-table chefs at the demonstration kitchen on the festival floor with demos from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and in the adjacent festival classroom, hospitality consultant and food blogger Clark Wolf leads the panel discussion “Great News About Good Food” at 1:30 p.m.
A collaborative effort between Fair Food Philly (founded by sustainability entrepreneur Judy Wicks) and the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture, all of the funds go towards excellent causes.

Tickets for general admission, $20, and for the guided tasting lounges, an additional $15, can be purchased online now, but general admission tickets will be available at the door, too, for $25.

Note that children under 12 attend for free, and many of kid- and family-friendly activities will be held throughout the day, including two sneak-peek film screenings of Watermelon Magic, a new film by Philadelphia-native Richard Hoffmann.
Don’t miss this one-day-only local foods extravaganza.
